A Life of Freedom

Bible Study Notes, from the journal fridays · June 12, 2020

Another round of #fromthejournalfridays shocked me as I opened this journal to find … almost all blank pages. I used to be notorious about leaving journals or devotionals half-done. This journal started out as a place to read through Exodus with a friend, and I just stopped writing about each chapter at some point.

One post-it note tucked inside stuck out to me from this journal, about the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart, a passage hard to understand in the best of times. But this post-it-note held a strong truth of something God is after in all the times of delay, waiting seasons, or when something doesn’t get answered the way we want.

A beautiful outcome of God hardening Pharaoh’s heart:

He had a far greater plan in mind with freeing his people – not just for a 3-day season of worship.

No, he had a life of freedom in mind.

(see Exodus chapter 5)
