Are you seeking discipleship or mentoring for a season of your life?
Do you know someone interested in missions?
I had a mentor in college who walked through Bible studies with me, helped me transition through different seasons of life, and just listened and offered wisdom from a few steps ahead of me. Ever since then, I have wanted to do the same. God has provided a few opportunities along the way to do so, and now I’m putting it here on my blog as another opportunity to be in community, walking with others in discipleship & mentoring.
How would this work?
Good question. If you are local to the Nashville/surrounding areas, we could meet for coffee or tea, go for a walk, or grab a bite to eat while talking about our lives and how we’re walking with God through them. This could be through a specific Bible Study or book.
If you are not local, we could meet over Facetime or Zoom or really any other online avenue, be it video or even simply messaging back and forth on an app like MarcoPolo or Voxer.
Either way, we’d simply be walking together intentionally, helping one another where we’re at, offering encouragement and advice. I believe that the encouragement is meant to be mutual in discipleship & mentoring, not one-sided only.
What if I’m interested in missions, or know someone who is?
The only difference this would hold is different subject topics. As someone who has walked through many stages of missions, including short-term, long-term, feeling called to a specific place (India), and being brought back to American after two years overseas–I’ve got an extensive history and a strong desire to help others walk those paths as well.
Of course, this is all free of charge.
We are called to use our gifts in the Church, and discipleship & mentoring is one of those ways God has worked in my life, and I want to see him work in other lives as well.
